Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping our world, and its potential to address global challenges is limitless. Are you ready to inspire your students and showcase their innovative spirit? The AI in STEM Challenge invites European STEM educators and their students to tackle real-world issues using the power of AI. Applications are open until 23 February 2025.

What Is the AI in STEM Challenge?

This competition, organized by Science on Stage, encourages primary and secondary school teachers to guide their students in exploring the transformative possibilities of AI. Together, they will identify a challenge, conceptualize a solution, and develop an AI application to make an impact.

From sustainability and environmental issues to healthcare, mobility, diversity, and inclusion, the topics are as diverse as your students’ imaginations.


Why Participate?

  1. Spark Creativity: Encourage students to think critically and creatively about global and local challenges.
  2. Foster Real-World Skills: Through hands-on AI projects, students will gain coding, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

How to Get Started

Participation is simple! Here’s how:

  1. Create a Project with Your Students:
    • Identify a challenge.
    • Explore how AI can address it.
    • Design, code, and refine your AI solution.
  2. Document Your Work:
    • Prepare a poster explaining the project.
    • Record a 2-minute video showcasing the process and results.
  3. Submit Online:

Judging Criteria

The projects will be evaluated based on:

  • Creativity and originality
  • Student engagement and activity
  • Community involvement (school, city, or region)
  • Innovation and sustainability
  • Practical application potential
  • Quality of presentation (poster and video)
